*Sporting Clube de Goa battle with Pune*

Sporting Clube de Goa will battle it out with Pune FC in round 7 of the
Hero I-League, organised by the AIFF at Balewadi stadium, Pune on Saturday.
The kick off time is 7pm.

Pune are currently second in the standings with 11 points from six games,
while Sporting Goa is bottom of the table with 2 points from five outings.

Pune are the highest scorers in the league so far with 12 goals, while
Sporting Goa has scored the least with just one to their credit.

Pune’s prolific scoring has come courtesy of Thongkhosiem Haokip who has
bagged 4 goals and Montenegrin forward Darko Nikac who has netted three.

Sporting Goa has strikers Boima Karpeh and Victorino Fernandes back to full
fitness after injury and both will be looking to get on the score sheet.

The last time the two clubs met was in the Durand Cup Semi final in
November, where Pune overcame Sporting Goa 2-1 to progress to the final.

Pune are currently undefeated at home this season and will be looking to
continue the progress.

The odds are stacked against Sporting Goa, although it was at this stage
last season where the Flaming Oranje dramatically overcame Pune 2-0 in Goa,
to end Pune’s unbeaten run in the league. Sporting Goa will be looking to
repeat that feat and resurrect their season.
