In a gross abuse of power and rank defiance, the Goa Government has for the
last four months refused to respond to the repeated queries raised by the
Goa office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) on the
very exorbitant fees being paid to Advocate General Atmaram Nadkarni. Goa
despite being the smallest state is not only hosting India's highest paid
Advocate General but he is also the country’s highest paid public servant.
The President of India is paid Rs 1,50,000 a month, the Chief Justice of
India Rs 1,00,000 and a High Court Judge Rs 80,000 but the notorious and
very controversial Advocate General of Goa Atmaram Nadkarni is officially
pocketing up to a whopping eight lakhs a month besides Rs 75,000 on every
visit to Delhi which is s nothing short of a day light loot and plunder of
the State’s exchequer. On the unofficial moolah Atmaram Nadkarni is
extracting from various fountains, it is visible even to the naked eye.
Then Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on 23rd May 2012 had directed that the
fees of Atmaram Nadkarni be hiked from five lakhs to eight lakhs a month
due to the very high inflation being faced by the Advocate General.
The flamboyant Atmaram Nadkarni is known to be extremely close to Manohar
Parrikar with both being privy to each other’s deals. They have even
travelled together all the way to the infamous red light “Walking Street”
of Pattaya in Bangkok.
Manohar Parrikar later publicly clarified that his visit was not to have
sex but that he merely enjoyed two Thai massages.
“Do I have to go so far for sex” is what the 59 year old widower Manohar
Parrikar had the audacity of asking the journalists. On all this less said
the better but all we know for now is that Atmaram Nadkarni is desperately
sneaking his way to try and be a Supreme Court Judge. It will be the
darkest ever day for India’s Judiciary.
