Thanks for this JoeGoaUK.

Your video clips give a small sample of the true phenomenal musician Emiliano

We often fail to appreciate the value of someone who is alive and it is only
when he dies that we suddenly realise the value we lost.

About 15 years ago (or perhaps little more) Emiliano had come to London with
his lovely wife.

We were attending a charity village feast that weekend (I cannot remember which
village) and Emiliano offered to play for free and all he asked was if he could
put some of his cassettes for sale after his performance so that people could
buy if they liked the music. The president of that village association - an
African Goan - who wanted to "maximise profits" (as he told me to my face)
rejected the offer. I felt really bad for Emiliano but because we had already
paid for the tickets we ended up going to the function and Emiliano went
somewhere else.

To my surprise(and shock), since there was no band but only a DJ, they ended up
playing Goan music. And guess whose music they played? Emiliano's music !!
I was so shocked that I went to speak to the so called "African Goan" president
of the village association and asked him - Do you know whose music this is ???
He said he did not know and I told him this is the same person who offered to
play live at your function for free and you rejected his offer. And now you
play his CD without even knowing who is the musician playing ? OMG ! Anyway,
enough said.

Let us remember Emiliano the way he was - always happy, always motivated and
always ready to party.

We will miss him terribly. He was a legend.

RIP
Paulo Colaço Dias
