Dear Sachin,
I wish you, Nandakumar or Augusto Pinto could do some justice to this priest
who suffered for his nationalist convictions.
Try to trace a booklet published by Zito Almeida on behalf of Goan freedom
fighters in late 50s to expose the case. I would leave it to you to trace
the Goa Jesuits of Mumbai province who played along with the Spanish Jesuits
in isolating and hounding out Albert Mendonsa. I wish you could trace his
family and his writings. Check what you could find at Lingraj college, speak
to any of his contemporaries there or at St. Xavier's, Mapusa. You could
come up with a tragic story, worth being remembered. If you do not do it
now, some day some one will do justice to that man. I wish there was more
talent and capacity displayed by Goan cybersurfers, instead of much that I
see there.
