Goa Book Club will be hosted at Caravela (31st January Road, Panjim) on
Friday, Jan 29, 2016 at 5.30 pm. Alan Machado, the author of three books on
the Mangalorean community (Sarasvati's Children, history; Shades Within
Shadows, fiction; and the latest Slaves of Sultans, published in 2015,
history) will be the guest speaker. He will talk on his writings, and how
as an engineer he got interested in the world of history and wrote a
significant amount on otherwise misunderstood issues. The function is open
