*To:* *The Editors, Bureau Chiefs, Staff Reporters, Admins and others.* *Press Statement for kind favour of publication**.* The Goa Su-Raj Party-GSRP's General Secretary Floriano Lobo, in a press briefing held at its Mapusa office, today, stated that Mickky Pacheco of GVP joining hands with the Anti-Mopa brigade the 'Mopa Vimantal Pidit Shetkari Samiti' , the 'Outlook for Social Change' and the 'Federation of Rainbow Warriors' is something that Goa should be rejoicing about and added that Mickky should remain firm on his Anti-MOPA commitment. He further stated that GFDO which has been pioneering the fight against MOPA Airport should consider joining the Anti-Mopa brigade so that all other forces against MOPA merge as one to defeat this mega scam and to avert the expected ecological disaster at Mopa. Mr. Floriano Lobo said that 'Varkhand' which is the gateway for MOPA must not yield at any cost and said that GSRP has been supporting the MOPA VIMANTAL PIDIT SHETKARI SAMITI's Sandeep Kambli in his steadfast fight against MOPA Airport since the beginning of the agitation. On the Navy's overpowering presence at Dabolim, Mr. Floriano said that the Navy is in illegal occupation of Goa's Civilian Airport . He said that the Navy must either curtail its superflous activities not related to defence to allow Dabolim to grow as Goa's sole International Airport or it must move to either Karwar's Sea Bird Base or to Belgaum. "At any cost", Mr. Lobo said " GSRP shall not allow the Navy to continue if its presence impedes the growth of Dabolim Airport as the sole International Airport of Goa. He further stated " If the Navy thinks that it will digest Dabolim Airport for itself, then it must think ten times over" Mr. Lobo has made a fervent plea to GOANS worldwide to join forces with those who are fighting the Anti-MOPA battle so that MOPA is scrapped to save Goa from a massive ecological disaster as also to save Goa's centrally located Civilian Airport at Dabolim since 1955.
