Preparations in full swing for DKA’s Writers Conference

Prepartions are in full swing for the Writers Conference organized by Dalgado
Konknni Akademi (DKA), an institution which promotes Konknni written in the
Roman script.Two important sessions will be the highlight of the conference.
The subject of the first session is Romi Konknni Borovpiam mukha veleo
oddchonni ani tankam vatt (Obstacles before the Romi Konknni writers and
finding solutions). While Willy Goes will present the paper, those on the panel
discussion include Alvaro Gomes, Brenda Menezes and Pio Esteves. Dr. Anselmo
Fernandes will moderate the session. In the evening session, Pandharinath D.
Lotlikar will present his paper on the subject, Romi Konknni Borovpiam mukha
velim avhanam (Challenges before the Romi Konknni writers) where Alexinho
Fernandes, William Fernandes and Ashok Chodankar will take part in the panel
discussion. Tomazinho Cardozo will moderate the session.
There will also be open discussion where writers will get an opportunity to
express their point of view.
A poetry session of humourous poetry presented by Daniel F. De Souza, Sonia
Gomes, Mathew D’ Costa, Sylvestrina Fernandes, Menino Almeida, Anie de colvale,
Cirilo D Fernandes, Rena D’ Souza, J. P. Fernandes, Selza Lopes, Anthony
Miranda and Guadalupe Dias has also been included in the day-long conference.
The Conference will take be held on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at Ravindra Bhavan’s
Black Box, Margao from 9.30 am to 5.00 pm. As the presence of Romi Konknni
writers is a must, DKA has appealed to the writers to keep this day exclusively
reserved for the conference.
