The humble tendli (in Bombay), tendlim (in Goa), tindora (in Gujarat or North
India) or Ivy Gourd in fancier parts, are available everywhere. Even in Toronto
almost all Indian grocery stores sell them, fresh or frozen for about $3 per lb.

They are a tasty, crunchy vegetable, easily cooked and most delightfully done
with masalas. They are reputed to be good nutrition for diabetics, in the same
league as eggplant, bitter-gourd and okra.

Here is an easy to prepare recipe with few ingredients, taking little time but
with excellent taste, going well with a dry roti and pickle and for those times
you want to avoid a heavier meal.
