Dear All, Editors may please bring to the public this information; --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Comments made by Nelson Dias in one of the section of press, is not acceptable in toto. I have no issue whatever people make comments because in a democratic set up everyone has right to talk and write. Perhaps he is partially right and I admit a certain comment. Now let me give him an explanation::
1. It is true that, the more the towers better is the coverage. I say, provided they are all within the limits of guidelines set up by the TRAI and International, WHO norms etec. That way one tower could have been sufficient and in that case high power was needed to cover up the whole area of 120 towers, as now planned for a Briccs Summit. But what would be the consequences? Almost 90% cases of patients would be turned out to be cancerous. In laymen words, say 1000 or more towers would be the best coverage and no cancer would be reported, provided it is at minimal power. But considering the cost for highest single radiation tower, the cost for 120 towers would be much more.. That is the reason exact or best compromise is worked out by the planners. But who is going to measure these radiations in Goa? Does anybody in Goa even at the Government level are equipped with such devices/apparatus for measurement? 3. To be in a safer side it is advisable not to have towers at all, if they cannot measure and regulate the radiation emissions. 4. Definitely I find some ulterior motives, moves and interest by the top authorities to see that in the name of Briccs Summit these 120 towers will come into existence and may remain there permanently grounded and that Goans will have to gulp it up for their life time. 5. No doubt Briccs summit needs good coverage as international leaders will participate in the summit being a world prestigious event. We need to give best for them. These leaders will be here for a few days ( may be only 2 days) and the radiation whether high or low will not affect none of them but if these towers remain permanent and uncontrolled transmissions, than our Goans have to gulp it and who knows how many of them will get cancer?
