>From Times of India (TOI)
*Former Goa Chief Minister and Congress candidate from Margao, Digambar Vasant
Kamat, has won in his constituency.
During his door-to-door campaign, Digambar Kamat repeated one mantra
frequently. "Call me any time, 24x7. You need no agent to come to me.
Development and all is fine, but you know what it means to have a door to knock
on in times of need," is what he told his electorate.

-----  GL responds
I was very heartened to read the above from the former Goa Chief Minster.  Now
the Goanetters and the columnists can have someone and somewhere to go to for
their problems like:
Garbage collection.Pot holes on the roads.Lack of public sanitation.Lack of
indoor toilets and plumbing.Trash on the streets.Power outage.Etc.,Etc.,
So as a suggestion, I hope we avoid using TOI or Goanet to bring attention to
domestic problems which are better tackled directly at the local level rather
than through some national or international channels of communication. Goans
washing their dirty laundry in public is not good for Goa's tourist image and
the Goan popular image of "Amchem bangarachem Goem."
