Folks,

An entire Easter weekend went by and the early part of this week - I had still
not logged into my personal inbox to check on my mails. I had been chilling
with my wife and kids and also messing with some friends to catch some lovely
spring weather in New York. An important errand brought me to my inbox late
this afternoon (Tuesday) and one of the first messages I spotted was titled
'Death Dr.Jose Colaco'.

I said to myself, "Wow! What did JC do this time - for someone to call for his
death". I peered at the subject line once again and said to myself, "This fight
is already sounding very ugly. May be JC bashed some dude real bad in an
earlier post and that that guy is calling for revenge"!

Anyway, I didn't have time to deal with JC's problem at the moment. I was
trying to fish an important email from a contact - which was my true intent to
log into my inbox in the first place.

And then I scrolled down ... saw more emails "Goodbye ... JC"! What? Is JC gone
... as in really gone ... I mean gone for-ever?

You really mean JC kicked the bucket? No way! And then, I randomly clicked on
one of the emails. And so, there you have it. That's pretty much how I found
out about JC's passing.

I am honestly very sad to read that JC is no longer with us. His passing truly
shows how fragile we really are.

I had a true love-hate relationship with the man. After decades of hard-ball
exchanges on GoaNet, we had somehow found ourselves on the same side of the
aisle. We both liked Trump. After all we both couldn't take a liking to Hill.
We both had situations where our families were with Hill, while we were with
Trump. In most families this sort of stuff would have resulted in a bloody
civil war. But based on each other's writings, I felt we somehow played ball
and de-escalated the furor at our respective homes. I thought that was weird.

Finally, in true Jose-ian style, let me quickly summarize what people on GoaNet
have said so far about the man:
1. One of his favorite words was "Bondolist".
2. He supported Goa's political setting circa 1961 or earlier (not after).
3. He was subborn
4. He was entertaining
5. Active and loyal GoaNet member
6. He was vocal
7. He was a great debater

Now - if all of the above are not true, what was JC really made of?

There is no sure answer. He would have genuinely asked - who cares?

Kator-Re-Bhaji.

My sincere condolences to his wife and family. Rest in peace my man.

Jim Fernandes.
Scarsdale, NY.
