That was a very interesting article Eric. Thanks for enriching our
knowledge. However, I could not figure out one of the statements. viz. that
the local Christian population in Bandra were called 'East Indians" due to
their close relationship with the East India Company. Local Christians all
over Bombay, whether in Mazagaon or Andheri or Sahar or Kurla or Chembur
and even in Vasai (Bassein), Uttan, Bhayandar, Nala Sopara etc are all
generically called "East Indians'.
