Former European colonies in the Caribbean have taken a direct hit and have suffered significant damage to property. Many of the residents of these British, French and Dutch colonies have close relatives in the mother country. Similarly some rich colonists and royalty have posh vacation homes and private island in these islands. Richard Branson, the owner of British Virgin Airlines, has his vacation on a private island completely destroyed. He and his family and friends were saved because they hunkered down in their hurricane bunker during the storm Now it is the turn of USA, specifically Florida from Hurricanes Irma and Jose.
