Best wishes to the Union Ayush Minister Shripad Naik on his birthday tomorrow. But what is an eyesore however, is that the birthday boy in a very unhealthy move has illegally and unlawfully defaced public property around Goa by unauthorisedly displaying huge cut-outs listing the itinerary of his birthday celebration.
In a trade-off some government contractor must have incurred this entire huge expenditure but nonetheless it is a colossal waste of money which could have been used for some lawful better deeds. And more importantly how has the otherwise humble Shripad Naik dared install these cut-outs without the permission and paying the necessary dues to the respective local Municipalities and Panchayats. And the Corporation of City of Panaji (CCP) coffers are empty. This is yet another example that if you are in the BJP you are above the law and can violate every rule with impunity. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. People in public life and especially the law makers should lead by example in abiding with all regulations in letter and spirit.
