I have trouble reconciling the following two facts in the TOI article below.

1) The BSE has shaved off 4.30 lakh crores rupees (66 billion USD) off 
investors’ money in the last 5 days.

2) It has created 45.5 lakh crore rupees (700 billion USD) for investors in 
2017.

Are these real figures or just Mickey Mouse? Has the BSE really have control of 
that much wealth?
