I guess one's perspective depends on how far one is from Goa, what other
mistresses (lands) we have got accustomed to in the meanwhile, the
complexities of the life we expect and Goa's ability to sustain that, our
understanding of the process of social change after 1961 (whatever we
choose to call it), whether we think we've gained or lost over time, how
factors like corruption or tenancy or local politics affect us...especially
if nom-residents.

All this goes into shaping our perspectives. Which , in turn, then goes on
to shape and fix our perspective.
