The tragedy is that the current BJP government (made up of essentially Hindu
untutored peasants & bigots) couldn't care less if the Taj Mahal crumbles to
dust. It stands as a monument of their subjugation by the Moghuls. The
Hindus failed to erect any comparable edifice (with an accompanying
memorable narrative) and the Taj remains a painful reminder of their
inadequacy & primitive condition.
Remember that a few thousand Muslims controlled millions of Hindus for 800
years followed by the British for another 200 years.
