FAILURE OF THE OPPOSITION If you are pointing a gun, there must be bullets in it and be capable of hitting the target! The Opposition blew a good chance to knock the BJP on the mat if they had coordinated and done their homework backed by facts and figures, forcing a factual rebuttal! This was essential before taking on the well oiled organized and propaganda machine with an accomplished orator speaking last! The Modi embrace and wink was a good out of the box psycological gesture on someone who keeps hugging the likes of Trump, Xi etc. Love and humility are good exhibitions to counter hate and intolerence. But general accusations like tall promises fulfilling none and the Rafael deal blew up in Rahul's face!The other parties generally concentrated on their own State problems, so the PM could easily win the vote and get away with ridiculing, answering that women's safety was a state law and order problem and entirely skipping the main issues like Hindutva, lynchings, NPAs, governance issues like pollution, flooding and loss of jobs and hundred other serious issues that could have been brought up like AI sale and with the Supreme Court scathing comments on lynching and a huge farmer's dharna just close outside having absolutely been ignored!The figures the BJP crunches out do not reflect the inflation, high prices in the market and resultant quality of living of the masses suffering! International rating agencies generally relying on governmentn figures naturally print a rosy picture. Amazingly the PM and government spokespersons constantly and repeatedly keep accusing the opposition of arrogance, communalization, polarization etc, exactly what they have achieved and are exhibitng.
