GOA IS A JOURNEY, NOT A DESTINATION
------------------------------------------------------------

The legacy of susegado and daily siesta
The umpteen festivals and Carnival fiesta

The 100 km long coastline
Awash with surf and sunshine

Beaches all along from Arambol, Mandrem, Morjim,
Vagator, Anjuna, Baga, Calangute and Candolim

To Miramar, Majorda, Colva Benaulim,
Agonda, Palolem and Cavelossim

Mhadei, Mahavir, Netravali and Cotigao wildlife sanctuary,
Unending forests and hills with scenic lush greenery

Tiracol, Caboderama, Sinquerim, Reis Magos, Corjeum
and 'Dil chahata hai' Chapora fort
Holding court with loading and unloading at the busy
Mormguao Port

The rivers Chapora and Zuari
And musical cruising Mandovi

The river ferries so quaint across Betim and Panjim,
And across Chorao, Cortalim, Madkaim and Loutolim

The Wednesday flea market at Anjuna
The traditional Friday market at Mapusa

The omnipresent fish curry rice with sol kadi
Rechadeo, Cafreal, Sorpotel and Xacuti
Pork vindaloo, tiger prawns, Urak and Feni
With fresh baked Unddo, Pao, Katro, Kankonn and Poyi

The historic churches and temples across Goa
The temples and spice plantations in Ponda

Goa is all that and so much more
Every Goan is committed to the core
To bring tiatr, art and culture to the fore

Letting education do the earning
Yearning to contribute beyond learning

The state of art Central Library
The omnipresent Kala Academy

The events at Institute of Menezes Braganza daily

The diverse numerous lectures at ICG and MOG

The 'Mediation' and environmental law lectures
by VMSL fraternity

The curtain raisers of GALF and
DIFFICULT DIALOGUES at Goa University

The panaroma of movies at IFFI,
The versatility of the 'Space' Story
The grandeur of Festival Serendipity..

Can't find any other City Echoing such symphony

Goa will always be an unfinished journey
Still so much to see
 Away from urban cacophony
Still so much to experience in earnest harmony.

(Quoting below Hon.Justice G S Patel of the
Bombay High Court Bench at Panaji, in the
recent NGT jurisdiction case...

"This is an extraordinary state, in more ways than one
A place where perhaps more than anywhere else
Sky sea and earth meet...

>From horizon to horizon, it is a land of abundant richness.
It is a land of confluences where diverse strands meet
and coexist...
It is a kind and gentle land of a kind and gentle people.
And it is also a land that, given its small size and small
population, has had a wholly disproportionate influence
on our art, culture, language, music, literature, architecture,
history, design and more...

Its greatest asset is one: its environment and its ecology-
its rivers and riverbanks, its beaches, its lakes and clear
streams, its dense forests, its low hills and fertile fields,
its boulders, and even trees shrouded with moss and vines
and lichen in the rains, its ridiculously brilliant sunsets.

One needs only to turn off an arterial road to either East
or West to see all this first hand, and all of it within
but a few minutes.

....the people of Goa...perceive that there is something
of value here to protect...

For this is something none can deny:
Goa is a land truly worth fighting for")
