To set the record straight, it is NOT Tensing Rodrigues who wrote that bit
about overseas Indians shutting up.
He simply quoted from the early part from an Indian site (whose name I
forget).

Can non-resident Indians please shut up?"

GL responds:
I see Tensing, you had to do some real research - dig-up a 2015 article to
support your perspective.? Yet you make a valid point.
However, specifically for Goanet, that is what we care about, quite a few
frequent posters are using the e-site and the rest of us as a forum to
dissipate their own internal stress.? The question critical writers need to
ask and answer is:? Is my post going to solve the problem or am I trying to
transpose my internal frustrations on others??
Most of us come to Goanet to enjoy and share positive thoughts and feelings;
and not read the same old - kere kere, however true false the account may
be.?
Enough of my kere kere!

Comment:
Last year NRI remittances to India amounted to over $65 billion on top of
the economic activity generated when said NRIs come back visiting.
In sharp contrast Balance of Trade for India for year 2017 was a deficit of
$148.87 billion USD.
Admittedly it is not apples and apples comparison, but you have to think that
it would be good to sort through the advice being given freely by NRIs and
select for implementation ideas that can make a positive impact on the well
being of most people.
Best Regards.
