To facilitate and expedite the further doom and destruction of
Goa, Manohar Parrikar and the BJP have shunted Dharmendra Sharma and managed
to desperately bring their ‘Yes man' Parimal Rai as the next Chief
Secretary of the State. The very tainted Parimal Rai was named by the CBI
in the 2010 Commonwealth Games Scam. Is this the Zero Tolerance to
Corruption that the BJP has been professing about?
Parimal Rai is a flamboyant Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram-Union
Territories (AGMUT) cadre IAS officer of the 1985 batch who has been at the
centre of a fair share of controversies while serving in Delhi.
As Chairman of the New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) between 2007 and
2011, he was named by the Central Bureau of Investigation in its
investigation of the 2010 Commonwealth Games scam in the construction of
stadia. He was considered very close to Delhi’s then Congress Chief
Minister Sheila Dikshit, but the Narendra Modi government also declined the
CBI permission to prosecute him.
Parimal Rai, who was the then NDMC Chairman was booked by the CBI in
alleged irregularities in the construction of Convention Centre which
allegedly caused a loss of Rs 15 crore to the exchequer.
