I thank Frederick for providing a summary of last evening's proceedings. However, what he has written below is a gross mischaracterization of my position and my motivation.
Frederick Noronha wrote: >Rajan Parrikar outlined his journey into photography and building >awareness about the deterioration of Goa's charm, If "charm" was all that was at stake, there would no cause for me to do anything, and I could have stayed home and enjoyed viswon the rest of my life. After all, "charm" waxes and wanes with the seasons, and could be revived. "Deterioration" doesn't quite capture it. The D-words I subscribe to as regards Goa are DESTRUCTION of the land and DEMOGRAPHIC warfare. It is the irreversible DESTRUCTION OF GOA I talked about not the "deterioration of Goa's charm." I also spoke about the DEMOGRAPHIC warfare being waged against Goans right now by India and how it threatens our identity, our culture, our comfort, our way of life. I don't recall having used the word "charm" at all, but I could be wrong (there will be a video recording perhaps to confirm one way or the other). But if I did, it will have been a peripheral remark. I will give Frederick the benefit of the doubt and assume it was merely his honest interpretation. Regards, r
