Bezos was worth $65 billion while married (his hare was always 1/2 the total wealth of his married wealth in a community property state like Washington and I would say in general that should be the case). Now his $65 billion share will be formally only in his name. His affair has cost lawyer's fees to formally change the ownership of his wealth, plus of the course the immeasurable and most important cost of his children's emotional state in a divorce. Although the media is reporting he lost half his fortune, it is sexist to assume that 100% of his wealth was his in a marriage and his wife's share was zero. The amount is half his net worth of 138 billion. It’s all a question of where the smell or stink - whichever the case - lies. The heir to a famous throne is once said to have expressed a wish to trade places with the tampon in his then girlfriends unmentionable place. Unlike Bezos he didn’t have to part with any billions for that. Instead the tampon user eventually became his wife. Poor Bezos, but then what’s billions? Just like age, an unnecessary number. Roland.
