Corruption In Goa.

That was an interesting article by ericpinto. I should like to read the book

I agree that corruption is debilitating factor whether it be Goa or India or
whereever.

Having said that corruption exists everywhere. There is petty courruption
and big time corruption. Any form of corruption should be frowned upon and
individuals can make a difference.

I recall having to register my son at the Church for "zone". It is a simple
task. An official from Mapuca turned up to do the registration. It was not a
pressureised job given that I was the only customer there. The man said came
straight out with it at the end of the registration of name and address.
Would I provide "some emoluments". I was not quite prepared for this and
feigned ignorance and then said NO. He was not a Goan which somehow
mitigated my embarrassment.

I think we can all do something to prevent corruption. After Nigeria and
Pakistan, Kenya is considered to be one of the most corrupt countries in the
world. Erstwhile man Joseph Karanja set the world alight by doing something
about it. He is well worth a read. He is lawyer who studied in India who
felt he had to do something for his country. Here is a reference.
