party hoppers
Political parties try back door entry through defections and horse trading .New
strategy to confine MLA,s in luxury hotels to prevent poaching is new
normal . Both the ruling and opposition parties resort to this chicanery to
destabilise Govts . By exploiting the loopholes anti defection law is made
redundant. The courts too have not entirely been objective and consistent. The
Governors have not acted as Guardians of constitution ,but circumventing
established norms and judicial pronouncement
The Govts are not going to appoint separate bodies to deal with this malaise
of defections .The neutrality of the speaker is a far cry .The tamasha is
putting Indian democracy to ridicule .Worse still the voters have no say of
switching parties and them the verysame voters reelect the politicians on a
different party .This is unique exercise in any democracy of the world and
fortunately is not exported to any democracies of theworld either At best
thereare successful coalition Govt in place
A simple rule of disqualifications that any one or in numbers wanting to
join other parry including independent must be debarred and also from
contesting next elections or holding any office of position in the Govt. There
is no contradictions, interpretation or need for judicial interventions
It is a complete mockery of democratic process needing expensive re elections
and burdening the exchequer and taking fir granted the sentiments of betrayal
of voters
