International Cuisine Conference on Traditional Asian Diet Panaji, Goa, September 2-5, 2007 - http://www.indologygoa.in Online Media Partner: http://www.goanet.org ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dear Goanetters The people of Bardez who visit Mapuca will really agree with me regarding the sorry state of the town. One cannot park his two wheeler at any convienent point. You want to visit the; bank say bank of India you will lucky if you can find one cm of space to put your two wheeler on stand. To make the matters worse the traffic police have been towing your vehicle if you have parked it anywhere. The Mapuca Municipality has allowed construction of buildings without proper FAR.There is no space left for road widening. To make matters worse the Mapuca shopkeepers have been using metalic frameworks to stop people from parking the vehicles. How can they block the road?Take for example you want to go to Corporation bank, all barriers . The fellow having steelyard has dumped his iron roads, handcarts trucks etc blocking the little space which the two wheelers can use to park while banking. The manager of corporation keeps his car horizontal to the footpath and so no one can use the place .The bank as well as the shops near it have encroached the road area which is illegal. Some of the people on the goanet should take a lead and fight for the parking space in the town.I do not know what our beloved MLA is doing about it.
