Oscar Rebelo ends his GT article as follows:

be a great statesman all one needs is to be a decent human being." But,
then, do decent humanbeings last out in Life's race?>
In his brief TV appearances Dr Rebelo comes across as a cherubic person. The
GT article seems to match it (fortunately or unfortunately) in intellect.
Unless it is just a conscious ploy to exude simplicity in a dirty, rotten
field like real estate, regional planning etc etc.
Anyway, to rise to, say, Churchillian (Winston not Alemao!) heights of
statesmanship he may have to check the dictionary meaning of the word.
Statesman means "person skilled in affairs of state, sagacious far-sighted
politician." If Dr R aspires to statemanship he has to first become a
politician. But wasnt he intent on GBA remaining "apolitical"? He has to
make up his mind as to what game he really wants to play.
