Stumbled on this delightful song on Youtube the other day, a duet by the
East Indian singers Snedden Kinny and Natasha Vasaikar, and I just can't
get enough of the tune and the little skit enacted by the duo. The
resemblance to our cantars, especially the quarrelling duets in our tiatrs
by, say, Robin Vaz and Antonette, threw me for a moment, as also the
soothing bucolic setting of the video. But it is the lilting beat that had,
and still has, me hooked, and I've left a comment of appreciation on the
page. The song is in Marathi, of course, so be prepared to have almost all
of the lyrics soar over your head, as happened with me, but I can assure
you, you won't regret the six odd minutes spent watching a grown man and
woman squabbling in public!
