Betalbatim rape incident
Politician pounced on the CM for his remarks.Unfortunately merit was
lost as it was an emotional issue too fresh.Examine it dispassionately
and answer whether any of the vociferous politicians would permit their
minorvwards at that unearthly hour.It was just a pleasure trip and there
was no function or special ocassion or crowds at site
Each one must exercise due diligence and do not expect state to provide
security at all places at all times.The sensational issue of rapes by some
brats of politicians remains burried How many police can monitor stretches
of beaches at night and specially secluded spots? The police force is
inadequate in cities to prevent daring robberies. Does one riding in a rash
manner and expect traffic police to caution you? You swim at sea in no
safety zone and expect to be protected by coastguards..It is warped
argument that police and state protect you, when one deliberately ignore
minimum precautions of safety What is the economics involveled of 24x7
patrolling of all stretches of beaches and feadibility?
It is also true that no one has right to abuse another at the unearthly
hour in a secluded stretch of beach and law will take cognisance. The CM
committed faupax by declaring terminating the Govt servant and ignorant of
rules of suspension, which could afford castigation. Discretion is better
part of valour.Even though tough action will be initiated ,will the
victims be free of stigma associated by deflecting on security by police
Those that take liberty of risk cannot blame state for their misguided
right of security. THe observations of CM deserve merit if not exploited
for political mileage
