<the point is that despite the many government political topplingsour politicians are pretty much the same. As bad or as good. Despitethe hype and rhetoric of some. As far as 'ideological rifts' areconcerned, they all share their same pro-business, pro-'development'approach (which basically means laying down infrastructure forindustry, building roads even where not needed, tarring themrepeatedly, placing power infrastructure, and caring little aboutbuilding pro-people human resources and skills, or people's needs).>[FN]
The trouble I am having is the very glaring disconnect between your cherished illusion of political/social stability and the patent lack of statesmanship and societal dynamism. You may have touched on this in thinly suppressed bitterness with your reference to a lack of a human touch. Think about this a little more some time. Besides, all the things you have listed about the so-called "pro-development" approach which you say all subscribe to are not really business or development oriented. The power situation in Goa is a joke. Transport, water supply, sewerage, garbage etc etc are almost all out of control! Are you sure the "development" is not in the personal, selfish "line-your-pocket" category (of the pols and babus -- maybe even us voters!-- that is)?
