A Division bench of the Bombay High Court at Goa comprising of Justice
Manish Pitale and Justice R.N. Laddha have reserved their verdict on the
disqualification petitions filed against those 12 MLAs while observing
during the hearing that defections by elected MLAs was a very serious issue.

Babu Kavlekar (Quepem); Babush Monserrate (Panaji); Jennifer Monserrate
(Taleigao); Antonio alias Tony Fernandes (St Cruz); Francis Silveira (St
Andre); Nilkanth Halarnkar (Tivim); Felipe Nery Rodrigues (Velim); Isidore
Fernandes (Canacona); Wilfred alias Babashan D'Sa (Nuvem) and Clafasio Dias
(Cuncolim) besides former MGP MLAs Babu Ajgaonkar (Pernem) and Deepak
Pauskar (Sanvordem) are also under the scanner of the High Court for having
blatantly breached the Anti- Defection law. .

If these 12 former MLAs are in accordance with the Anti-Defection law
disqualified, it would lead to unnecessary by-elections next month in these
twelve constituencies which would needlessly further burden our already
bankrupt Goa exchequer.

It would be therefore prudent that on 14th February no one votes for these
12 MLAs, who had selfishly for the sake of Money and Moolah sold their
souls not thinking about their Goa.
