Home delivery of milk and newspapers by
Mr RAMESH Bishe , agent at Chinchinim has been extending home delivery,
every day in cold weather and rains for the last 60 years. His name was
suggested by popular request as then agent was arrogant and .
Insulting. We thus had two outlets and first one shut down. unable to
face the competition.Hence the change was a great welcome relief Ramesh
has served coutessously for close to 50 years
He has been forced to discontinue as many customers do not regularly pay
dues and outstanding runs into lakhs. The daily milk bill runs into 22K.and
the monthly paper bill is stiff.Fortunately a miniscule few paid in advance
for a year , quarterly and monthly
A written notice was served that failure to pay a month in advance the
service will be stopped. IT did not serve the intended purpose. The
inconvenience sadly will be for loyal customers. He also obliged by putting
advertisement floaters at a small fee and it was a cheap convenient means
for anyone to touch Chinchinim Villagers
After his retirement he finds it financially difficult to bear the burden
for unrewarding pains. He also made avaiable National newspapers sourcing
daily from Margao. At his outlet people peruse the daily without paying
for it.The Village is served by two libraries providing newspapers to the
readers. The newspapers too are likely to face stiff distribution hiccups
and as a result the sales will plummet. I wonder whether there are any
willing agents as of now to fill the gap. .The elderly too will find it
difficult for milk and newspapers at door steps regularly in time
A second round of distribution followed without grudge due to delay of
stock sometimes The input costs of petrol also makes it unviable
proposition for home delivery. These services are catered by outsidersand
locals are loath to do the same
His loyal customers are indeed grateful for this long years of
uninterrupted of home delivery.Thank you Ramesh you have provided a
valuable service.to the community of Chinchinim Village. Besides he has
generously and secretively contributed towards many social causes
.Customers will feel the pinch and depth of inconvenience from May onwards.
He has served postal services with dedication , love and commitment
It is but natural to wish him happy retirement with good health and long
life
I am sure that Chinchinim Villagers will endorse my sentiments of
gratitude
