Pulpit for propaganda It is disappointing that pulpit is being increasingly used for expressing Political and other social issues by over zealous ministers .My experience outside the country has convinced me that it is used in entiretity to propagate and strengthen faith. Needless to say that any issue affecting the community interests that needs discussion can be debated outside religious ceremonies. There is truth to show how some are motivated by partisan inclinations and compensatory considerations .Today the captive followers do not need the political expertise that is thrust on them unsolicited.By and large faithful are much more educated and knowledgeable to swallow such pearls of wisdom in a one sided blast and thunder .Those who seek can approach privately. The sanctity of the pulpit must be maitained to preach the gospel not to draw comparisons and take even indirect / oblique snides at other faiths even remotely. I have noticed that sermons are from a prepared draft , which has also to be forwarded to the authorities as a natter of caution..Some self opiniated preachers wear a halo of self worth to force their views from the pulpit which is not the purpose of faithful. To avoid social disturbances and maintain religious harmony the eclessiastical authorities must issue a dictat not to use pulpit for Political awareness or otherwise .The fanatic elements use it to stir upheavals under the guise of hurting religious sentiments Religion is a personal matter and individual opinion must be respected. Those who lead must adhere to maximum restraint and keep their personal views aside. In the alternative conduct meetings privately outside religious cermonies without captive congregation to trash issues by voluntary participation and it is a democratic platform .Christ never preached comparative religion to emphasize superiority .I stand to be corrected
