Gaza Israel conflict. Gaza strip witnessed many wars over the centuries to take control because of its strategic location of trading, maritime route,historical significance and resources ,as it is the point where Assia meets Africa. Besides it was starting point for early pilgrimages and notable city in initial Christian era. Palestimians are spread over Jordan, Lebanon , Syria and west Bank. .Two regions of Palestine Gaza & west Bank were under British rule.Gaza strip has prominently young refuguees and is densely populated .It was controlled by Egypt and West Bank by Jordan. After 1967 war Israel took control of both Palestine enclaves. West Bank consits of two non contiguous regions and after 1967 was divided ibto 3 zones west bank , East Jerusalem etc .Israel enforced severe restrictions on movement by Palestians on Gaza by air, sea, land with check points,closing borders , with buffer zone check points with Egypt and enforcing reduced fishing zones to protect itself. Israel settlers ,administrative centres that guarded settlements were a point of resentment and constant irritations.Israel permitted entry of workers in construction, agriculture and other services.Palestinians depend heavily on water ,food, electricity and telecom services.On the other hand Palestine trade of citrus fruits to Europe is routed through Israel with truck crops and wheat supplied by Israel . Hamas militant organisation was the creation of Muslim Brotherhood and opposed to moderate PLO.An isolated accidents created first Intafada (uprising) in 1987.Tunnels through Egypt were the main source for all nefarious activities.Hamas fought 4 inconclusive wars since 2007.Since 1990 to 2007 Israel enforced strict closure of movement between Gaza and West Bank.In 1993 the Oslo accord ( peace accord) recognized Gaza and West Bank as single territorial unit. with semi autonomy with limited control in Gaza and Jerico (West Bank) and a promise of statehood on 5 years. With a clause of settlement buildings restrictions .Arafat accused Hamas of corruption, Nepotism The second intifada took place in 2000., The Gaza International airport the only direct link to the outside world was checkmated In the year 2005 Israel evacuated Gaza settlents Gaza with limited autonomy.Hamas victory in 2006 led to control of Gaza with displacement and overthrow of PLO.. Due to constant skirmishes with Israel, it cut aid , entry of workers followed by closure of borders by Egypt in 2014 and severely restricted entry of workers The recent act of barbaric terrorism has led to declaration of war and seize of Gaza with .Nations are divided into two blocks Arabs and others supporting and opposing with a possibility of spreading the conflict The aspirations of Palestinians are genuine but not through terrorism .All themassive aid is diverted by Hamas for terrorism destabilise and anhilate Israel and not in any way to ameliorate , elevate the suffering of the people of Palestine and improve living standards Nelson Lopes Chinchinim
