Honouring the living dead

Honouring the living dead

It is the general practice and accepted norm that establishments,:roads,
airports ,bridges:hospitals institution honour public figures after their
demise.Idi Amin the despot of Uganda was of a different genere. He had
statues of himself when alive and in power.Mayawati is another in this
unique category. They were certain that none would glorify them after their
death.
India has had many PM's of repute and caliber and who occupied this
exhalted position for a longest period in history and whose contribution
is documented by grateful Nation as a mark of respect and honour without
their desires. It is to their credit, and humility that not a single one of
them even remotely inspired to be honoured with this naming ceremony. It
comes as surprise and oblique departure from tradition that a biggest
cricket stadium is named after a public figure There is nothing on record
to indicate that there was objection, consultations or silent
acquisicence to the proposal
It is a new trend in self glorification that is detestable precedent
devoid of humility and grace
May their tribes increase as usual only the politicians of all shades
usurp free public adulations being kings and rulers
It is a wonder and strange that temples are erected to Sachin Tendulkar.
Amita Bachan. P.M MODI where they are worshiped with great devotion
