"We are anticipating foul play on the floor of the House. We went to Governor to request him to ensure that the numbers on the floor of the House are not be altered by the Speaker," BJP General Secretary Rajiv Pratap Rudy told mediapersons outside the Raj Bhavan. Rudy, who met the Governor along with BJP leader Manohar Parrikar, Save Goa Front's Churchill Alemao and United Goans Democratic Party leader Atanasio Monserratte, said the floor test should be the first business on card when the house meets on Monday afternoon. "As per the Governor's instruction, the floor test should be the first legislative business...We want the Speaker to abide by the direction and not conduct any other business before the floor test," Rudy said. The BJP is anticipating ex-parte order in the wake of disqualification petition filed by Congress against two Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party MLAs with the Speaker. "Taking up any other issue before the vote of confidence would be illegal," Rudy, a former Union Minister, said. GDA claims the support of 20 legislators in the 40-member House while the Congress-led coalition has 18 MLAs, excluding the Speaker, in their camp.
