Using the Right To Information Act 2005, I secured an interesting list
of all the PhDs awarded by the Goa University since its inception in
the 1980s (and earlier, PhDs awarded to students of the GU's
predecessor in Goa, the Centre for Post Graduate Research and
Instruction).
This information spans 40-50 pages, and is a bit volumnous. Some of it
is hand-entered. If anyone would like specific details, please contact
me offline.
I wish it was already in digitised form, so that it could have been
widely shared via cyberspace. Such information needs to be out in the
public domain. This might have been of interest to other researchers
on Goa, and a useful addition to the publicly-available information
about the Goa University. After all, information and knowledge is most
useful when it is widely available and easily accessible.
Maybe, now that the information is collated, the GU would make it
available via their website too. FN
