*Eight Groups to Participate in TAG’s Much-Awaited 13th Children’s Tiatr
Competition*



The much-awaited 13th Children’s Tiatr Competition organised by the Tiatr
Academy of Goa (TAG) will be held from January 20 to February 9, 2026, with
the aim of nurturing young talent and strengthening the foundation of
Konkani tiatr from an early age. The competition is being organised in
collaboration with Ravindra Bhavan, Baina, Vasco-da-Gama.



A total of eight troupes will participate in this year’s competition,
presenting original children’s tiatrs that reflect creativity, social
awareness and theatrical skills. Over the years, TAG’s Children’s Tiatr
Competition has emerged as an important platform to encourage young
artistes, writers and directors, ensuring continuity and growth of tiatr as
a vibrant cultural tradition of Goa.



The inaugural function of the competition will be held on January 20 at
3.30 pm, followed by the first tiatr performance at 4.00 pm. Shri Sankalp
Amonkar, Hon. MLA of Mormugao Constituency, will grace the occasion as the
Chief Guest. Fr. Ronny Fernandes, Assistant Parish Priest of St. Andrew’s
Church, Vasco da Gama, will be the Guest of Honour, while Shri Jayant
Jadhav, Chairman of Ravindra Bhavan, Vasco, will be the Special Invitee for
the inaugural function. All subsequent performances during the competition
will commence daily at 4.00 pm sharp.



The opening performance on January 20 will be Hem Amchem Daiz, written and
directed by Gloria Ferrao. This will be followed by Sanddlelim Thikam on
January 21, written and directed by Francisco Xavier Pereira. On January
22, Guneanvachi Saulli will be staged by The Rosary High School, Cujira,
Bambolim, written by Austin Rodrigues and directed by Alisha Menezes.



On January 23, audiences will witness Mono Avaz (The Silent Scream),
written and directed by Sharon M. Mazarello. After a short break, the
competition will resume on February 2 with Ek Zunvo by Marcos Gonsalves.
The February 3 performance will feature Avoi Morom Mauxi Urom, written by
Gabriel Crasto and directed by Dylan Vaz.



The final two tiatrs will be staged on February 5 and February 9, with
Melody by Drishti Entertainments, directed by William Fernandes, and Tem
Yeunche Adim, written and directed by Pio Esteves, respectively.



Entry to all performances is free and will be permitted on a first-come,
first-served basis. TAG has appealed to tiatr lovers and the general public
to attend in large numbers and encourage the young performers, who
represent the future of Konkani tiatr.
