My dear Charles,

Why is it that you find it so easy and convenient to blame the 'low' ghantis
for the problems created by our loving goans? I wonder if you have even
bothered to think for a minute before venting your frustration. No doubt
about the fact that none of us loves slums etc. They are an acknowledged
eyesore. But who is responsible my friend? To the best of my knowledge, my
local goan contractor in my village employs.brings in these 'ghantis' u r
against. BUT he does not provide them proper housing or toilet facilities.
You know the result. Whom do you blame? Place yourself in their shoes and
think. You in an alien land where your employer does not provide you with
these facilities. So if the issue is low cost labor blah blah, all said and
done I think the solution is local, is it not? So to move towards a 'ghanti'
free green goa, why don't you step up and have a word with these
contractors?
As for peace loving goans. Maybe. Maybe not. Since I belong to the south, I
only need to glance at our lovely shippies or gulfy goans. They are too
obvious. Gaudy clothes, flashy shades, a bullet bike (they never seem to
tire of that). And forget about being rude, they most defintely are haughty.
Now, I personally am more put off by these lot, then I am by the ghantis
(especially since i have never been interfered with by them).
Now the more important point. How are you going to stop these people you are
against? Stand at all possible borders? Or more likely, you'll be quite
happy with them as long as they submit to your command and behave meekly in
front of you. After all in goa, the color of one's skin is very important,
is it not? Get real, and be an active particpant in proper, systematic and
effective governance if you want to rid the state of its problems. Its very
easy to scream 'ghanti', 'bhiknekar' etc and then get the same people either
for construction labor or to take care of our elderly. Please dont be a
hypocrite. You are catching hold of people who aren't even your size and who
most definiteyl are not the problem. You see, they can be regulated. They do
not make the rules. But u are shying away from speaking to the politicians,
or local contractors who are creating the trouble. So make a start, instead
of just writing letters issuing wrong directions, which unfortunately many
gullible people will definitely follow.

cheers,
Joseph de Melo

Dear Proud Goans..

Yes "We Goans are peaceful, dear and large-hearted people. However, we have
been taken for granted by "Ghatis" (NON GOANS ) from Kashmir, Gujrat &
Biharis etc etc coming in. We have been cheated, robbed & taken over our
Goan rights in many many ways .. Yes, just because we are peaceful, dear
and large-hearted.

Dear Goan Brothers & Sisters , we need to stop all these *d**ts "Ghatis"
from all these unwanted activities or rather spoiling our beautiful Goa.
Thereby we need your support / to attain our basic civil liberties in all
the possible ways & moreover your kind cooperation as to pass on this
message to each and every household.

Trust! my fellow Goan Brothers & Sisters we need turn the clock and attain
this maneuver success by proving that we are PROUD GOANS AND WE ARE ONE..
Nevertheless ,with pride rise from man to a man and defend our pride land
from GHATIS . SPOILING OUR BEAUTIFUL GOA

I Remain,

Best Regards
Charles
