PRESS NOTE:
The Goa Su-Raj Party congratulates the Executive Members of the UGDP for its
unique action of having disowned its lone MLA Shri. Atanasio (Babush)
Monserrate for gross indiscipline of having pledged his support to the
hurriedly formed Goa Democratic Alliance [GDA] and then having switched his
support to the Congress led coalition without taking the parent Party into
confidence.
This singular action by the UGDP is appreciated all the more because this
decision has been taken at the cost of losing the Party's recognition with
the Election Commission of India as the 'recognised' regional party of Goa.
The Goa Su-Raj Party is pleased to note that this Party's earlier action of
breaking off its young and maiden electoral alliance with the UGDP has been
amply vindicated because the pre-condition for the two parties coming
together on an electoral pact was that Shri. Atanasio Monserrate will not be
given re-entry into the UGDP.
The Goa Su-Raj Party wishes the UGDP well and assures its fullest of support
in its endeavours and urges it to maintain this high level of party
discipline in the future to grow by leaps and bounds to defeat the
self-centric and opportunistic politics of Goa.
It is time that disciplined Goa-centric regional politics joined forces to
end the era of national as well as regional political opportunism encouraged
through increasing moral and ethical decay.

Dear Floriano,
Looks like you too have lapped it up a little too soon.
Is it not an attempt to circumvent or rather prempt a demand for his logical
disqualification?
Cant still fathom as to what prevented them from filing a disqualification
petition against him before the Speaker if they so desired. After all, was
it not the same party, that filed one against their own MLA Matanhy Saldanha
before Sardinha, when he was the Speaker for allegedly going against the
party grain?
Yet another devoius attempt to fool the public?
