What is Rape ?
In JoeGoaUk's simple words..
When some one ( not necessarily Male) forcibly has intercourse with another
(not necessarily
between male and female) is called Rape.
One typical (filmy)example:
At gun/knife point etc.. One may say submit yourself to me or else
To call any act a rape there must be an intercourse otherwise it is not a
rape. It may be
called sexual assault or Rape attempt.
What if the Rapist denies having intercourse? How to know its a Rape in this
case?
Well, if the complain is lodged, both the Rape accused & the victim are sent
for medical
check-up e.g. GMC where doctors there determine if there was an intercourse or
not.
So, what exactly is the intercourse then?

(15/08/07) Two Canadian families were putting up in a city 5 star hotel
(Marriott?) Girl's
father being Indian origin (Goan?). Their daughter (16) befriended with the boy
also 16 while
swimming at the Hotel pool. While girls parents were away (night out) it
appears that the
girl invited the boy (another Canadian family) into the room. When the girl
parents return
back to the hotel room they found their daughter sobbing. Both the Rape accused
and the Victim
were sent to GMC for Medical examination where it was proved the boy had
intercourse with the
girl thus confirming the rape. The boy is arrested and being a minor sent to
Apna Ghar at
Merces.
Now, your may put these two questions?
Why the girl did not go with her parents for the night out?
Why the girl invited the boy in her room that too at night ?

(16/08/07) 16 years old boy arrested by the Quepem police on charges of raping
a 14 yer old
girl who happens to be his neighbour. The girls parents used to be away from
home as they are
daily wage earners. The boy began to frequenting the house on the flimsy
pretexts. The
familiarity grew into intimacy and the affair resulted into pregnancy.
When the girl complained of severe pain in the abdomen, the parents took her to
a nearby
doctor who confirmed she was 7 months pregnant . Both the families living
conditions reported
very poor (Goan families). The boy arrested and sent to Merces.
Now, you may say..
-Why I said 15 where the boy was actually16?

(15.08/07) It was reported the child uncle (35) raped his niece (6) at army
quarters Altinho.
Military hospital near Kala Academy Panjim where the accused works there as
compounder.
After the girl complained of pain, she was brought to the Military hospital
where the doctor
found something unusual about her pain. After inquiring with the girl the
doctor learnt the
minor had been sexually assaulted by her uncle. The girl in her statement said
that her uncle
raped her. Police complaint was made and the uncle was arrested. But the GMC
examination test
shown negative. However, GMC now awaiting a serology report from Hyderabad.
Now you may say..
- a six year old really old enough to understand what is Rape?
- We now know Goa has to depend on Hyderabad for Serology tests etc.
Goa Police etc also depends on Hyderabad for any forensic tests etc.
