Remo a Goan Aam Aadmi Refuses Raja Sanman
Remo -- the name rings a lot of bells -- of the types he penned and sung like ,
'politicians dont know to rock and roll', etc.
Remo -- who earned Goans accolades far and wide across the globe and who
despite of his varoius efforts in the field of culture and music, has been
always left int he category of unsung heroes.
Finally the former president Abdul Kalam bestowed on him the Padamshree -- well
done AK!
Today, the Goa government and specially Digamber Kamat has finally woken
up...too late, the long serving CM Pratapsingh Rane never realised the
potential to award Remo, despite the fact that Rane honoured several non-goan
artistes.
The aam aadmi chanting Digamber Kamat govt who is now enpowered by the most
ferocious species of looters and turncoats whom he so dearly embraces must
accept the slap Remo gave him.
I wonder what is the criteria of the Raaja Sanman awards as there are some
dubious elements who have been in this years list.
I strongly support Remo and wish there were others in the long list who refused
the award -- It requires guts and Remo just showed he has a lot of it.
Also, Remo's suggestion to give the cash to GBA is a wise decision. Despite
tall claims in the media by Digamber Kamat that the regional plan 2011 being
scrapped, there is still large scale selling and destruction of land. Who will
fight this?
I suggest that Remo should be honoured by each and every Goan for his bold act.
It is a shame for the Government and specially Digamber Kamat.
Well done Remo -- Goans be proud of this great son of the soil!
