International Cuisine Conference on Traditional Asian Diet Panaji, Goa, September 2-5, 2007 - http://www.indologygoa.in Online Media Partner: http://www.goanet.org ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Annswer to 1 below is 'YES' One can take this as FIR from me. As if that was not enough, here is a little bit of video evidence http://youtube.com/watch?v=gQiucyXlANI Two wheelers should not be allowed to use ferry boat during peak hours say 7.30 to 9.30am and again 5.30 to 7.30pm, Go little further, and there is not just one but two bridges to cross the river Mandovi. In the interest of public convenience and safety, I would also like to forward this to RND and other concerned authority. FN, is there any RND website ? As I always said, a bridge would be the ideal solution here. thanks. [Goanet] Ferry crossings Cecil Pinto cpinto at sancharnet.in Sun Sep 2 23:20:28 PDT 2007 1) Has there ever been an instance when a pedestrian was not allowed on the ferry because there was no space, as the space had been occupied by two wheelers? 2) What's wrong with wanting to "save a few rupees of petrol"? It's good for the environment too. 3) While a minor percentage of two wheeler riders might be using the ferry boat to circumvent the helmet rule on the bridge/highway, the majority use the ferry like you because of convenience and economy. I don't see why they should be denied that legitimate right when there is more than enough space to accommodate pedestrians too in the ferries. Cheers!
