Bhandare,As a (non-practicing) Christian I am ashamed of you asa
Hindu. As a Goan, I am ashamed of you as afellow-Goan, if infact you
are one. There is not onesentence that comes out of your mouth that
isconciliatory or unifying.
I think Goanet is a forum to discuss issues and ideas.
You use it to disseminate your particular brand ofvitriol and bigotry.
If infact you are interested inthe secular credentials of India, by
all means putforward your facts, your displeasure with aspects
ofreligion that flow over into the secular fabric ofsociety. However,
to refer to a whole section ofsociety as your "pet peeves", assures me
that you andyour type have no interest in a secular India and youwill
not rest until the entire Christian and Muslimcommunity is
annihilated.
I encourage you to take advantage of the variouscourses offered in the
US on tolerance and diversity.
Some of them may do you some good. Failing which, Iadvise you to take
up a job is a multi-cultural citylike Dubai. Two things will happen to
you, you willend with working with a Muslim as your boss, a Hinduas
your colleague and maybe even a Christian as yourfriend. The other
thing that will happen to you isrealising that the Arabs don't care
what type ofIndian you are, Sarawat, Brahmin, Dalit, Christian
orMuslim. The them, we are all "malhind", a pejorativeterm used by
them to refer to Indians. At this ironicmoment in your life, you will
realise we are all thesame.
