All of us have wrong notion of christianity and of Jesus. Human beings have
put partitions among themselves by calling one group Christian, others Hindus
and some others Muslims then we have Parsis, etc etc. And these partitions have
made us look at each other with envy and suspicions. But Jesus came to unite
human beings. He might have started his life as a Jew but did he not preach to
the samarian woman ? Many times we feel that Jesus is only the God of the
christians. It is a wrong notion. He has come to purify human beings and made
them people of love. He just said Love each other as I have loved you. He was
not the founder of Christianity at all. In fact Christianity is a way of life.
You can be a Hindu, go to the temple and offer your sacrifice to Your God. No
problem. still you can raise yourself to God I repeat to God by going to the
temple and offering your gifts may be to Shiva, Ganesh etc and still be a
christian at heart. I live in a building which has more Hindus, and less
christians. But at time of calamity all people will come together for help.
When I came to stay here I did not know anyone around the building. I only knew
my next door neighbour.At around twelve at midnight my child got very sick. She
was small and around six years of age. She started to vomit and was getting
dehydrated. I did not know any doctor and woke up my neighbour who immediately
took me and my child on a motor cycle to a doctor who was also a Hindu and not
known to us either. At past midnight we woke the doctor who felt very sorry for
my child andtook us inside his flat and attended to my child without
chargingany fee plus he gave sample medicine as we were not in a position to
buy medicine. At another time my mother who was very old got sick and had to be
hospitalised. Many of our neighbours had gathered around the building as
another hindu lady had died and they were getting ready for cremation. When the
whole group came to know about my mother some of them had cars, they all came
lifted my mother and took her to the hospital as she had to be hospitalised and
waited till the doctor came to attend her. Later days they all visitedthe
hospital in turns.This is christianity. You can still be a follower of christ
by worshipping Ganesh provided you show love to human beings and treat them as
human beings. I hope I am clear
