Your prayers are requested for Mr. Oswald (Ossie) Dias (84) who passed away at Dabolim, Goa on October 15, 2007. His wife, Laura (90) had passed away only ten days earlier on October 5, 2007. They leave behind a son Francisco who is married to Naomi and ran a book shop. The funeral is to be held on October 16. Ossie had retired quite a few years ago as an engineer from the Marmugoa Port.
Ossie Dias passed his engineering exams in the 1940’s from the Nadirshah Eduljee Dinshaw (N.E.D.) Engineering College. During his student days he excelled in Athletics, Football and Hockey and was also the Scout Master and Band Leader of his Alma Matar, St. Patrick’s High School in Karachi. His late wife, Laura Gonsalves was a prominent social worker and was the President of the Red Cross Society, the Y.W.C.A. and the All Pakistan Woman’s Association. Ossie leaves behind his brothers Alex in London, Rev. Fr. Melito Dias and Desmond Dias in Karachi and sisters Flavia in Canada and Antonette and Nita in Karachi. May his soul rest in peace. Amen.
