Given that thugs rule the state (the mining and real estate mafia) who will prostitute their mothers, sisters, and daughters for a rupee (50 paisa in some cases), there is no hope that the average Goan can expect good goverance from the political pimps in Porvorim.
Are PILs the best way to force transparency, disclosure, and accountability in government? I had suggested earlier this year that all real estate transactions in Goa over 2000 square meters be reviewed for legality going back 5 years (these are arbitary numbers but serve as some bench mark). If a legitimate Goa Based group can be formed to do this and stop the sale of Goa in illegal transactions, I am sure Goans will contribute financially to such a cause. It is better than the GBA route in the long run if successful. Is the PIL route the only hope now? How much does a PIL cost to file and what is the process? The time has long passed to DISCUSS action, now it the time to act. Regards, George
