Has anyone heard of potatoes that grow on hills? Technically a yam, but different. Scientific name: Dioscorea opposita (genus monocot). I do not mean potatoes that are humanly planted. Point being, I am curious to know whether what is known as Yama Imo (Mountain Potato) in Japan -- grow in Goa or even other parts of India.
