Dear Goanet, I agree with Mr.Rajan Parrikar. Diggu didn't do something extraordinary or saintly by scrapping the SEZs. He only did what anyone would have done in his position. If the whole state is up in arms against your project, you might as well scrap it, if you want to have a future as a politician.
And about the few posts about the Congress government 'wanting to listen to the people'. That's a colored lens interpretation, as usual. The government just seems to gambling on one major scam after another, hoping that one will finally work out. If a government forces people to get to the streets to demand their rights, that's not what I call an efficient and people-friendly government. The present government only scrapped the SEZs because it had no other viable option. A good an efficient government would be one that identifies the pros and cons of a project BEFORE it is notified, not just randomly throw darts around and hope that one escapes the activists and hits the bulls eye.
