Quite predictably, my post elicited another bout of religious chauvinism on Goanet. It is unfortunate that this form of prejudice is still so rampant among educated people in secular countries.
Swami Vivekananda was not a chauvinist. He taught that all religions and belief systems were of equal value. He never said that Hinduism was better than Christianity. I am sure a good priest never told this poster that Christianity was better than Hinduism. And, yet he harbors that prejudice. In the light of the above question, however, one wonders whether Babush and Churchill have this kind of empathy, or whether they have converted to Islam or Hinduism. > >do they look after their own kind? > I have noticed that Indians of all religions look after their parents and children at least as well as Americans and Europeans, if not better. > > Now look at Africa, Christianity united all races. > Now non Christians are not only killing Christians > but are killing their own race. Many of the clashes are between Christians and non-Christians e.g. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/3689615.stm > > Christianity has proved time and again that it is > the ONLY way for progress. > If we read the history of human civilization we learn that it is the secular way of thinking that has achieved the most rapid progress. Exponential progress was initiated by the onset of the age of enlightenment. Cheers, Santosh
